Summer Singing Opportunity – Tuesdays in June & July 2026.

You are invited to participate in The Summer Singers, a community summer singing group.  Starting June 2nd, we will meet Tuesdays from 6–7:30 PM for 9 weeks at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Urbana-Champaign (UUCUC), 309 W Green St, Urbana, IL 61801 

All are welcome, come be choir curious with us.  We hope UUCUC members, friends, and other folks from local groups like CU Sings, The Chorale, Amasong, and any other music group will join!

The purpose of this is to have fun and build musical community - a chance to come when you can and sing with us.

Low-pressure, no performance requirement – just come sing for fun when you are available!

Optional performance opportunity: Singers may choose to perform at a summer UU service.

Digital Music – each week we’ll email the group of participants PDF versions of the songs we’ll use – you can print them out or use a tablet to read them at rehearsal.  (If you can’t access a printer or tablet just let me know and we’ll try to pair you up with a partner to print out music for you.) 

The church will provide an accompanist;  we are hiring Brandon Young-Eleazar - a professional vocal coach/conductor- to lead rehearsals.   Brandon is a music instructor for the Urbana School District and they act as the assistant director with Amasong.  

Participation is FREE; however, the costs of the program are around $1400 total for the summer.

Donations are requested to help support this endeavor.
